What You'll Be Doing

  • Championing a culture of safety and wellbeing across all levels of the organisation, from senior leaders to shop floor colleagues.
  • Supporting the local FMRE team to ensure robust risk controls are in place for all activities, including those of our service providers.
  • Ensuring compliance with legal requirements for new and existing plant and equipment, including ongoing maintenance.
  • Reviewing safety management systems for prospective contractors during the pre-qualification process.
  • Conducting EHS inspections and audits, maintaining accurate records, and driving action plans for continuous improvement.
  • Providing expert advice on EHS matters for a wide range of strategic projects, including feasibility and design reviews.
  • Leading compliance audits and ensuring processes meet all relevant legal standards (including CDM Regulations 2015 and the Building Safety Act).
  • Investigating incidents (from near misses to lost time injuries and environmental events), ensuring effective follow-up and learning.
  • Promoting EHS topics through training, awareness campaigns, KPI reporting, and induction programmes.

What We're Looking For

  • NEBOSH General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety (or equivalent) - essential.
  • Strong experience in Facilities Management, Construction, or Real Estate environments.
  • Proven ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels, building strong relationships across the business.
  • Hands-on experience with risk assessment, auditing, and compliance processes.
  • CDM experience is essential.
  • A team player who can also work independently, with a positive, solutions-focused attitude.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development (IOSH membership desirable).
