Our MISTLE service is a child and adolescent service for looked after children with complex needs. The service provides a dedicated lead for joint assessment, risk-management and interventions following a psychologically-informed approach using Attachment Theory, Systems Theory, Social Learning Theory and the Humanistic Perspective. We primarily support C&YP's step down from out of authority residential care into community-based living such as specialist foster care, kindship care.

The service provides one to one support for children and young people aged 8-18 who have such significant challenging and risk-taking behaviour that their placement stability and security of relationships is threatened. We work with their families and will also support and train foster carers to develop knowledge, understanding and confidence in providing therapeutic care.

How will you make a difference?

We are looking for a Locality Service Manager who will be the local strategic leader ensuring the service delivers against the contract and budget. You will work closing with our commissioners and other partners attending Steering Group Meetings, Panel Meetings and Contract Meetings. Working closely with the Clinical Psychologist you will manage a team Lead Therapeutic Practitioners, Young People Practitioners and a Business Support Officer ensuring C&YP's outcomes are improved.

What will you need?

  • Holding a professional qualification in social care or in related field
  • Managerial or supervisory experience within social care.
  • Experience of working with children's services, local authorities, commissioned services and/or children with disabilities.
  • Experience in managing and overseeing safeguarding issues and concerns.
  • Experience of working in a multiagency settings.
  • Previous experience of supporting the successful management of and delivery of commissioned services.
  • You will have a proven record of collaboration and working in partnership and managing projects and services
