About the Role
Are you driven by the challenge of delivering large‑scale transformation that improves services for students and staff? UCL is seeking a Transformation Manager (Timetabling) to lead the mobilisation and early delivery of a major programme focused on transforming our timetabling capabilities and wider student services.
In this pivotal role, you will bring structure, pace, and clarity to a complex, multi‑stakeholder programme. Working closely with senior leaders, academics, student services teams, IT partners, and external delivery experts, you will turn strategic ambitions into actionable plans that enable better experiences and outcomes for our students.
You'll shape future service models, coordinate cross‑institutional delivery efforts, and embed strong governance and programme discipline to ensure momentum from day one.
What You'll Do
Lead Transformation:
Define, shape, and lead the mobilisation of UCL's Timetabling Transformation programme, ensuring alignment to institutional strategy and student experience priorities.
Drive Delivery:
Oversee planning, risks, dependencies, and benefits tracking across student services transformation initiatives, ensuring delivery teams are supported and focused.
Manage Stakeholders:
Build trusted relationships with Directors, Vice‑Deans, Faculty Managers, ISD, Registry teams, and academic departments to secure alignment and commitment.
Improve Services:
Lead co‑design of improved processes, services, and student journeys using data, service design principles, and digital opportunities.
Enable Change:
Embed strong change management, communications, and organisational readiness approaches to support new ways of working.
Lead Teams:
Line manage Transformation Project Manager(s) and provide direction, coaching, and standards for cross‑functional project staff.
About You
We're looking for someone with:
- Significant experience (5+ years) delivering timetabling transformation in a university setting.
- Strong background in service improvement, operating model design, or organisational change.
- Experience leading multi‑project portfolios and directing delivery teams.
- Proven ability to influence senior leaders and bring alignment across diverse groups.
- Excellent communication, analytical, and problem‑solving skills.
- A collaborative, proactive approach and confidence working in complex environments.
- Desirable: experience improving student services or educational administration.
