Children and Family Practitioner - Level 2

Location: Ilfracombe, Devon

Salary: £16,367 per annum. Pro rata

Job type: Part time permanent 30hrs hours per week

North Devon Children's Centre provides a range of targeted Early Help services to families with Children aged 0-8 years. In Devon, Early Help is made up of service users, community resources, and a range of service providers who will work together to enable families to manage their own dilemmas and solve their own problems, making changes to secure the well-being of their children

This role will be coordinating and directing the support to children, young people and families by agreeing and providing support for interventions, which may be specialised, enabling positive and agreed outcomes to be achieved, in accordance with organisational policies, procedures and regulatory requirements.

The Role:

  • Providing a high quality service to children, young people and their families, based on an assessment of need
  • Delivering interventions with children, young people or families on a 1:1 basis, group or community setting
  • Providing support to SW3 on lead case/care planning management, including undertaking assessing, reviewing and managing risks
  • Attending and participating at relevant multi-agency meetings, providing a support role ensuring reflective and analytical practice review
  • Responsible for day to day resource planning to ensure high quality services are delivered
  • Establishing and developing effective relationships and channels of communication with children, young people, families, colleagues, community organisations, partner agencies and other external agencies
  • Retaining accurate and contemporaneous records, using various IT systems

What you'll need:

  • NVQ Level 3 qualification in either social care, health or education or significant experience
  • Knowledge and experience of high quality practice across a multiagency portfolio
  • Demonstrable professional experience in the field of children's social care /social care setting or background
  • Up-to-date knowledge of Early Help models
  • Up-to-date experience and application of safeguarding principles and the ability to promote the welfare of the child
  • Experience of group facilitation and early help support
  • Experience of dealing with age group 0-8years.
  • Full driving licence and access to a car
