The Family Offer began in 2017 where Action for Children were commissioned by the Local Authority to provide a variety of services based at children's centres in four towns of Sandwell. The Family Support element of the services aims to achieve positive outcomes for children, young people and their families who have multiple and complex needs.
The Role
The Early Years Worker will be part of a multi-disciplinary team that works with children and families who have multiple and complex needs.
The early years worker will run courses that last for 6 weeks across Oldbury, Smethwick, Wednesbury and West Bromwich to a maximum of 8 families per session. You will be planning, supporting and running the sessions.
The hours consist of Tue 11-8pm, Wed 9-4.30pm and Thu 9-4.30pm. Tuesday evenings will consist of an Antenatal session where we shall provide training to facilitate this.

The person
You'll need:
- Experience working in an early year's child care setting or a setting working with children aged 0 to 5 years.
- Level 2 in early years or equivalent and/or relevant experience
- Experience of supporting or running early years sessions
- Experience of planning early years sessions
- A thorough current working knowledge of children's emotional, physical, psychological and educational developmental needs from 0 to 5 years.
- Working knowledge of particular requirements of children with special needs in terms of support, development and care.
- Awareness and understanding of child protection and safeguarding issues for children aged 0 to 5 years.
- Confident using digital systems to record and plan, observe and communicate with others.
- Able to maintain records to comply with organisational expectations and national regulatory inspections, Ofsted/Care Inspectorate.
- Be an effective communicator and listener across multiple age groups
- Efficient, expressive and creative.
- Solution focused
- Driving licence and access to a car preferable as this role involves travel.
