Giving children and young people the foundations they need to thrive.

The role
Flintshire Family First Disability Service successfully provides support for children and young people with disabilities and additional needs. Working closely with our Parenting Partners we provide support online and where needed via risk assessed doorstep visits. Support workers also accompany families to any professional meeting to act as an advocacy. FFDS also provide support based on the needs and choices of the individual. We provide opportunities and build links to enable social interaction and develop life skills.

As a Young Person Worker, you'll support the development of children by creating fun and stimulating environments to enhance skills and promote emotional resilience and positive behaviour in group activities and one to one sessions. This is an exciting opportunity to join us in supporting youngsters who have and have yet to receive a formal neurodevelopmental diagnosis across Flintshire and Wrexham.

You will make a difference by:

- Being alert to child protection and safeguarding issues and inform appropriate line managers of concerns in line with safeguarding policies and procedures.

- Building and maintaining effective relationships with the children/young people, Neurodevelopmental team and other organisations

You will need:

- The ability to speak Welsh is desirable.

- Excellent communication skills.

Excellent diary management and report writing.

Ability to work flexibly when required i.e. evenings and weekends.
