Our client, a trusted UK Ministry of Defence partner, seeks an experienced Network Project Coordinator. In this role, you will act as the primary point of contact and interface between Facility Management/Security and Information Management. Your main objective will be to ensure that all IT services being delivered during a new, change to, or destruction of a building or site meet the business and security requirements. This is a contract opportunity, and you will work three days per week. There may be a contract extension or a permanent position.
What we're looking for:
- Possess excellent communication, time management, and team ethic skills with a drive to self-start on projects.
- Project management and stakeholder Management principles
- Commercially Astute / Budget and finance understanding.
- Good understanding of general IT network concepts and a strong knowledge of network security, including network classifications.
- Familiarity with MoD JSP documents about Network cabling and proximity of appliances / client devices concerning differing security classifications
- Understanding of project management disciplines / methodologies and how to utilise them efficiently within the Business
What you'll get to do as a Network Project Co-ordinator:
- Ensure timely delivery and budget adherence for network equipment, cabling, and patching.
- Changes / outages to Network services as part of an FM project are communicated.
- All new or changed equipment is accurately recorded, and any equipment for disposal is referenced to the Network classification was deployed upon
- Minimal wash-up activities from an IM perspective
- Smooth transition of IM services
- Successful delivery of the project and successful delivery of new requirements / services
- Ensure projects are communicated to customers and are delivered on time.
Accountabilities:
- When notified of a new, change to, or destruction of a building, floor, or office space, gather and understand the requirements by working with the nominated Facilities Management (FM) PM early on.
- Collaborate closely with the local IM Technology Integration Manager to understand and capture all requirements.
- Collaborate with the Wider Network team to clarify requirements and ensure no misunderstandings of capacity or capability.
- Operate with MBDA security to ensure physical and information security requirements are met and maintained throughout new offices concerning MoD JSP604 constraints on such data cabling / appliance spacing, etc.
- Capture cabling schedules and Data Equipment Room (DER) Requirements (number of racks / power requirements / UPS, etc.)
- Obtain any Network hardware / Installation quotes from the IM Networks LAN services suppliers as required for the project.
- Ensure clear expectations with the FM/IM Technology Integration Manager regarding project delivery, installation, budget, and resources to avoid IM Networks being perceived as blockers.
- Use project management disciplines / methodologies to track and ensure the Network suppliers meet their deadlines.
- The LAN services supplier must maintain accurate records of any new, moved or disposed equipment regarding its security classification.
- Ensure consistency of the proposals throughout these projects and apply it to all or as many areas as possible to standardise
- Act as Point of Contact for In-Life activities with respect to IM Network services once the FM Projects have been delivered and handed over to Operations.
