What You'll Be Doing

As a Social Worker / Senior Practitioner within Children's Services, you will play a key role in safeguarding and improving outcomes for children and adolescents. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Undertaking statutory Child & Family Assessments

  • Managing a caseload of Children in Need, Child Protection, and Looked After Children

  • Developing, implementing, and reviewing care and support plans

  • Leading and contributing to multi-agency meetings and safeguarding processes

  • Assessing risk and ensuring timely interventions

  • Supporting and mentoring less experienced social workers (Senior Practitioner level)

  • Preparing reports and completing court work when required

  • Working collaboratively with families, partner agencies, and internal teams

What We're Looking For

  • Qualified Social Worker (Social Work England registered)

  • Experience working within Children's Services

  • Strong assessment, safeguarding, and decision-making skills

  • Ability to manage complex cases confidently

  • Senior Practitioner applicants should have experience supporting or guiding colleagues
