The role

Flintshire Family Project works with children, young people and their families who have suffered trauma in their lives, they provide counselling and therapy services depending on the issue being faced.

As a Therapeutic Practitioner you will work with young people and families providing a high level of practice using appropriate interventions that are outcome focussed and evidence based which will enhance the family's engagement in early interventions to reduce and prevent the escalation to higher level services. These services will be delivered in a range of settings that are accessible to our families.

You will make a difference by:


- Providing high level professional therapeutic practice using appropriate interventions which are outcome focussed and evidence based.

- Being responsible for your own caseload of young people and adults with complex needs.

- Be responsible for maintaining recording and files to the highest standard.

- Providing assessments, and therapeutic interventions to the child or young person, carers and families within the system.

- Ensuring the provision of a professional and qualitative service.

- Contributing to and working within a multi-disciplinary team sharing values and working towards a shared vision.

- Making appropriate recommendations for interventions to ensure outcomes are focussed and achievable.

- Maintaining and developing effective working relationships.

- Attending meetings with external agencies and demonstrating clinical knowledge in terms of approach, advice and positioning.



You will need:.


- Core Profession in Social Care , Health, or Education.

- Qualification and experience in Counselling young people and families is essential for this post.

Demonstrate an understanding of the Impact of Adverse Childhood Experiences

- Excellent communication skills at all levels.

- Experience of working with young people and Families with complex emotional needs.

- The ability to engage with and build relationships with young people and their families and professionals.

- Excellent time management , organisation and IT skills

- To be empathetic with a positive outlook and an outcome focussed approach to your work.
