🔎 About the Role
Devon County Council is seeking experienced Advanced Social Workers to lead high-quality practice within Children & Families teams across the county. This role combines hands-on complex casework, professional leadership, and practice development, playing a key part in improving outcomes for children and families.
🧠 Key Responsibilities
- 👨👩👧 Hold a smaller, complex caseload, completing in-depth assessments.
- 🧑🏫 Provide coaching, mentoring & supervision to social workers, students & unqualified staff.
- 🛡️ Support your Team Manager with day-to-day team operations and service delivery.
- 🔍 Lead on improving practice quality, evidence-based approaches & reflective learning.
- 🤝 Work in multi-agency environments supporting complex family needs.
- 📚 Deliver on-the-job training and contribute to a strong, child-centred, restorative culture.
✨ About You (Essential)
You will be working at an Experienced/Advanced Social Worker level and can demonstrate:
- ✔️ Substantial post-qualifying experience
- ✔️ Strong experience working with families with complex needs
- ✔️ Knowledge and skill in mentoring, coaching & training colleagues
- ✔️ Confidence in leading practice improvement and constructive challenge
- ✔️ Evidence of post-qualifying training & development
