🔎 Role Overview

We're looking for an experienced Approved Social Worker to carry out Mental Health Act assessments, coordinate multi-agency responses, and ensure safe, lawful decision-making for service users.

🧠 Key Duties

  • 🩺 Work with doctors, specialists & agencies to gather background information.

  • 👥 Interview service users and complete full risk assessments.

  • 📄 Determine and complete applications for detention; prepare reports for hospital managers & tribunals.

  • 🚑 Coordinate with police, ambulance & courts for assessments or warrants.

  • 👪 Consult with nearest relatives and advise on rights under the MHA.

  • 🔄 Arrange alternative care when detention isn't appropriate.

  • 🗂️ Keep accurate records and complete admin.

  • 📚 Attend supervision, meetings & training; contribute to service improvement.

✨ Requirements

  • Qualified Social Worker with current ASW/AMHP approval.

  • Strong Mental Health Act knowledge + multi-agency experience.
