The role

Woodburn House is located within a residential area of Dalkeith and has been registered to provide long term care to a maximum of two young people with learning disabilities and challenging behaviour who are unable to live with their own families.

As the Team Leader you will spend time supporting the staff team through supervision, team meetings and running a live rota. You will also spend time working directly with the young people within the service following detailed careplan.

Working within the Health and Social Care Standards; My support, my life and with particular focus on the Principles within the Standards; Dignity & Respect, Compassion, Be included, Responsive care and support and Wellbeing you will ensure a high quality of care is proved to all young people.

This role will be working 37 hours a week on a shift basis and will involve a balance of administrative duties and practical work with the young people.



You will make a difference by:

- Holding the registration for the service (on a temporary basis).

- Having responsibility for the day to day management of the service in accordance with national standards.

- Being responsible for the supervision, learning and development of the team.

- Focusing on the outcome-lead care pf the children and young people staying at the service.




You will need:

- Experience of working in a residential service.

- Previous involvement in dealing with learning disabilities and challenging behaviour.

- Exposure to managing a team.

- SVQ Level 4 in Health and Social Care or the equivalent.

- An outcome-focussed attitude.

- A proven track record of managing staff in the context of supporting and developing people.

- Involvement in reporting on performance to funders and partners.

- The ability to work shifts on a rota basis and participate in the On-Call Rota.
