The role
The Action for Children Dundee services are looking for an innovative dynamic individual to become part of the Dundee Cluster Management team. As part of the wider Action for Children organisation, the Dundee cluster, deliver a diverse range of services across Dundee and Tayside. Specifically, we are looking for a registered manager to deliver our individualised support service.
Individualised Support Service, provides individualised support to young people who were previously looked after and young people with disabilities (Autism, Dyspraxia, Global Delay etc). Tailor made support packages are developed to allow young people to live independently and enable them to thrive. These packages include shift work and over - night sleep in support
You will need:
A qualification in SVQ 4 in Health and Social Care and a willingness to work towards a Leadership qualification if not already held. A relevant management qualification for social care will put you at an advantage, however we absolutely welcome candidates to apply who do not possess a management qualification but are willing to study for one.
-Experience of working in a child-based environment, in similar support packages.
-Experience in Management of a large team working towards an outcome.
-Experience of supporting children and young people with additional needs and or disabilities.
-Experience in support staff through reflective supervision practices.
-An understanding of the core needs of a child and how the work that we provide can cater towards this.
-The ability to communicate effectively and clearly with all stakeholders with the service.
-A close understanding of disability issues, attachment theory and Leadership styles.
-Knowledge of the Health and Social Care Standards; My support, my life, GIRFEC and SHANARRI and how these apply to the work we do.
