Location: Newton Abbot, South & West Devon
Hours: Monday to Friday, 09:00 - 17:00 (some flexibility required)
Pay Rate: Up to £42.00 per hour (DOE)

About the Role
We are currently seeking an Advanced Social Worker to join our Children & Families Team in Newton Abbot.
In this vital role, you will work closely with your Team Manager, providing professional leadership and supervision to colleagues while supporting the day-to-day operations of the team. You'll contribute to an effective, high-quality service for children and families, ensuring the best possible outcomes through strong leadership, reflection, and evidence-based practice.
This is a hands-on position with a smaller caseload, focusing on children and families with complex needs. You'll undertake in-depth assessments, offer guidance and mentoring, and share your expertise with colleagues and students to continuously improve practice standards.
Key Responsibilities
Lead by example, championing high standards of social work practice.
Support, supervise, and mentor less experienced social workers and students.
Undertake complex casework and detailed assessments with children and families.
Promote reflection, learning, and development across the team.
Work collaboratively with multi-agency partners to ensure coordinated support.
Assist your manager with the day-to-day running of the team.
Contribute to service improvement and uphold professional standards.
About You
You'll be an experienced and confident practitioner with substantial post-qualifying experience and a passion for supporting children and families. You can demonstrate that you are working at the Experienced Social Worker level and bring strong leadership and mentoring abilities.
Essential skills and experience:
Proven ability to work with families with complex needs within a multi-agency environment.
Strong mentoring, coaching, and training experience with professional colleagues.
Evidence of significant post-qualifying training and continuous professional development.
Ability to challenge and lead improvements in social care practice constructively.
